The PolyGuide: Instructions for Use (IFU)

Design: The PolyGuide

The BioTechnix PolyGuide Breast Lesion Localization System is a polymeric guide wire used for the localization of cancerous breast tissue during a lumpectomy procedure. Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer and the majority of patients opt for a lumpectomy procedure over a mastectomy procedure as it preserves breast tissue. Currently wire guided localization is the gold standard of care however often produces scheduling conflicts between physicians and is a painful and traumatizing experience for patients. The PolyGuide allows for radiologist to localize cancerous masses days before a lumpectomy procedure reducing physician scheduling conflicts and creating a better patient experience.
